With over a decade’s experience building powerful digital communities, Patrick has a passion for harnessing the voices of many to influence the policies of governments, regulators and companies.

Patrick leads Purpose Union’s communications and marketing, advising clients on how to build engaged audiences across earned, owned and paid channels. He has worked on corporate and nonprofit client accounts including Sanofi, Bauer Media Group, the Law Society, BT, Climate Outreach, Citizens UK, UCL and Compass Group. He leads the account for Sanofi’s global healthcare equity initiative A Million Conversations, which has won eight industry awards.

He also leads Purpose Union’s Purposeful AI practice, working with leaders to ensure AI tools and technology is used responsibly, inclusively and in line with organisational values.

At Unilever, Patrick led the company’s external content and channels, engaging millions of people in various global campaigns, such as Positive Beauty (a strategy to end discrimination in the beauty industry), and Clean Future (a plan to eliminate fossil fuels in home care products). His digital communications team at Which? grew one of the largest campaign supporter communities in the UK, which helped secure positive change on topics ranging from nuisance calls to bank scams. Patrick has also advised a number of companies on digital engagement strategies, including The Law Society, BUPA and Capita.

He is a board member of the Sheila McKechnie Foundation, which supports people in civil society to campaign for social change. He holds a first class degree from the University of Nottingham and University of Melbourne.
